House was built in 1928 on the same site as the original Grosvenor House
which was renowned for its 18th century splendour, and le Meridien continues
the tradition while adding all the facilities expected by the discerning
modern traveller. The hotel has the largest ballroom in Europe, The Great
Room, with a 1500 guest capacity. Complimentary to guests is the Health Club
which includes a 20 metre swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and gym (under 16s
cannot use the spa or gym baths). Also available is a beauty and hair salon.
Two restaurants, The la Terrazza and the Park Room, cater for all tastes
from contemporary Mediterranean cuisine to traditional English. There is
also a bars, the Red Bar styled as a gentleman's club and open for Lunch and
dinner, a libary lounge and the Bollinger Bar, a champagne bar in the la
Terrazza. The hotel has 22 meeting rooms. Room facilities include Work desk
with lamp, 2-line phone, Voice mail, Data ports on phone, TV with remote
control, Cable/satellite TV, All-news channel, In-room movies, Minibar, Air
conditioned, Iron and ironing board available, Hairdryer,
Bathrobe and Cribs are available. Room service is 24 hours.
